Running 26.2 miles for Haiti

Our goal is $26,000 for Haiti's hungriest children. Matching grants totaling $7,800 have been promised. This means that currently more than 18K has been raised. Please consider sponsoring me as I train to run the T.C.Marathon to benefit malnourished children in Haiti. Go HERE and HERE for the full story. Write to tara.livesay@worldwidevillage.org with questions.

Our Story

My Photo
T & T Livesay
Port au Prince, Haiti
We are former Minnesotans in our 4th year serving in Haiti. This is our family blog. We use it to share our experiences and lives with others and to keep Grandmas & Grandpas happy. Sometimes life in Haiti leaves you wondering "Where are you God?" and other times we witness miracles with our own eyes. Living in that tension has forced us to see how much we need Him and that we have a lot more growing to do. We are a messy work in progress - just trying to make the love of Jesus known while learning to know Him better.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for injustice, freedom and peace. -Franciscan Benediction

And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday. And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:10-11

"
What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like." -Saint Augustine

"Jesus calls men, not to a new religion, but to life." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

"What I do you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful." -Mother Teresa

“God isn’t looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him” -Hudson Taylor

"Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstances, are brought into closer connection with you."
-Augustine of Hippo
