No more brace-face

Before - April 2009
After - March 2011

The big haps at our house this weekend:

1. Paige got her braces off Friday
2. Paige had some sort of crazy allergic reaction and was totally miserable Saturday and Sunday
3. Paige was put on steroids and other drugs by her fabulous personal pediatrician Dokte Jen
4. Paige got hungry and irritable and remains so
5. Paige stayed home from school today to continue recovering from unknown allergic reaction

In non-Paige news:
1. Saturday Hope and Isaac went to the beach with the Hendrick family. They had a blast.
2. Noah is all better, no more puking of fever. Thursday and Friday were not fun days for him.
3. Harbor House ladies came over to play basketball, swim, and watch the movie Annie Saturday afternoon ... they were not too into that movie choice.
4. Church on Sunday followed by a time of prayer and discussion at the new Heartline land as we all try to determine the timing for each family moving there.
5. Geronne loved seeing the land. She is totally annoyed with the amount of rent we pay at our house. (We are not nearly as annoyed as she is.) So she thinks moving to this new property is the way to go. We probably won't move for another year though.
6. I told Geronne every woman in America wants her fabulous arms. I asked her if she wanted to give any tips... maybe create a workout video?  She said "sweep".  There you go.  You're welcome.

Photos below compliments of Beth McHoul/Jonna Howard.  (Jonna took these with Beth's camera, therefore she is missing from most photos.)

Sweep! Hmmm...maybe I need to be doing more of that! :o) I love the picture of Lydia with John. That little stinker reminds me so much of our second born girly! Prayers from Kansas City!

Paige is an absolutely beautiful person, inside and out! I wish I knew her and could call her friend...but sister-in-Christ is great too! I hope she starts feeling better soon! Glad Noah is feeling better! Isaac is getting taller in every picture. He's going to be a heartthrob in a few years!!

Loved the update! Hope all is well!

My thoughts on meeting blog readers...while a very cool opportunity I would hope that people would understand that your calling is to be HERE and be present in the things that God has brought you here to do. He didn't call you to Haiti to drive all over the city so you could have a cold soda with someone.

Our situation is a bit different because people want to come see what we're doing, but we're firm about "visiting hours" because we need those boundaries, and we just tell people that it's more effective to see things when everything is in full swing. Also, if people really want to see you that badly, they should be the ones that are willing to be flexible and make the effort to get to you. That's just my humble opinion :)

Josh would like it to be known that we've also been sick this week, but not puking. Mostly just fever and coughing. Now you know.

Also, his first thoughts were of you when he heard about Japan. He said that's so sad, but was glad that it wasn't in Haiti this time.

We can't think of anything else to share right now, so we're going to go spend the rest of our sick day watching a movie. "Okay, Mom. So let's be done"

Paige looks awesome! Sorry about the allergic reaction. So, Noah has been "puking fever"? Sorry, that was just a funny typo though. More power to all of you and thanks for sharing pix and stuff.

P.S. My word verification is "lextoli". Sounds like some sort of Italian sports car.

I had a dream Saturday night/Sunday morning that I was at PauP Fellowship and we were all eating caramel corn during church.

i hope so.

It was great saying hi to you in church on Sunday. It was simply hilarious when Lydia went and sat next to John. The look on her face was priceless. Did you put her up to that?

Also, the worship was especially good on Sunday. Could it be the leader?
Love,
Karen

Saw your photos from church and realized that I attended a service there in Feb.! I loved it! My Haitian "son" goes there every week. Maybe I'll meet you some time when I am in Haiti again!

Your blog is like my daily cup of coffee that puts a life into my heart & spirit. I appreciate your words and thoughts so very much. You all are such an example of Christians who live "real" and "raw" lives. It's beautiful. I found your blog through my friend Matt Grubs who I worked with here in ABQ. This blog has been amazing. Thank you!!! PS-Geronne does have awesome arms! I better start sweeping! :)

This is very random ---- I posted on your STM LTM post.

My husband is from Junior's neighbohood and they were friends when he lived there. I got to meet him when I first visited Haiti in 2001. So fun to see a familiar face.
