Christmas History ~ Year Three

(2009) This year will always and forever be my favorite year.  There was something tender about this year. It felt like we had a tiny piece of Bethlehem in our back yard. The kids totally enjoyed every bit of the making of the video.  The animals brought so many laughs.  Troy was convinced we'd all gone crazy, but in the end as he fought to get the borrowed donkey back into a truck, I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with him.  Britt and Chris gathered all the costumes and sent them to Haiti.  Troy wrote a simple song and Hope sang "glowy to God" over and over.

There is something about this that will always be deeply important to us all, in that less than a month after we put this together our lives were literally rocked as we watched and experienced our precious Haiti suffer the devastating effects of a giant earthquake.  This sort of represents the end of that stage  of our lives and our time in Haiti.

Okay... so tender, I'm sitting here in tears and my kids are wondering what's wrong with me. This is beautiful.

Hope's hauntingly sweet rendition of this song is wonderful. Wish it were available as a single. The beauty and simplicity of the Christmas story comes clearly through the whole production.

Love, love, love it. Totally convinced you need to market Hope singing this song as a fundraiser for Heartbeat.ing

I cried the first time I saw this way back then. I played it for every single person who would sit down for a few minutes. I love the simplicity and beauty, and the clear sweet Hope voice.
Thanks for re-sharing your Christmases with us.

I agree with others that Hope's sweet and innocent voice is truly angelic - you Livesay-lards are multi-talented! :)

This was the video that led me to your blog, I think it was Kristen or Christine who posted a link and have been stalking you ever since. I remember on that day I listened to Hope sing over and over because I was so in love with the song. I still like to listen to it and love that you repost it each year.

We did an e-Christmas card that year after having twins two weeks prior (lazy!!!) and included your video as an attachment. Perhaps as much as 70% of your increased blog traffic might have been due to our marriage's combined 29 aunts, 26 uncles, and 98 first cousins. :D I love this so, so much, especially what it represents in your lives.

Hearing Hope sing in this video brings me to tears every time. On a really difficult day last year I listened to her sing over and over again and it helped. She was Jesus with skin on for me that day.
