The spunky and unique children pictured above are: Isaac, age 15.5 - Hope, age 15 - Noah, 13 - Phoebe, age 10.5 - and Lydia, age 9.5. These five kids are in 4 different grades.
They are in need of an experienced and fun (MUST BE FUN!) teacher (honestly we prefer TWO teachers - either a couple or two good friends that know they can live together without anyone ending up dead) for the fall of 2017. Our kids LOVE school and have had great experiences learning in Haiti.
Emotionally stable people in good physical health will do best in Haiti.
Desired qualifications:
• Teaching degree/certificate
• Minimum one year prior teaching experience - Minimum age 24
• Provide references (personal & professional) and demonstrate maturity - submit to a background check if requested
• Flexibility and a sense of humor to deal with less than ideal circumstances such as: heat, bugs, no hot water or no water at all, no air-conditioning, funky tropical illness, lack of electricity, political instability, limited entertainment options, etc., etc. We know someone that needs a lot of order or control will not be happy in Haiti.
• Must be a self-starter - you will help choose curriculum and guide their education along with us.
• Ability to commit to the one entire school year - August 2017 through second week of June 2018. (Two and a half weeks off at Christmas - one week at Spring Break) - Please don't apply if you can only consider one semster.
Minimum commitment is ten months. Also, love Jesus and think His way is the way to try and do things.

A salary commensurate with experience will be paid. Some past teachers have also done fundraising to supplement the salary we paid. Compensation also includes a small furnished apartment on a beautiful and safe compound where the school is also located.
Ideal situation: A couple that can work/teach/live together - Or one single applicant who can handle not having regular transportation and being alone often.
Apartment that is provided is large enough for two people.
