We were all doing so well. We were implementing the, if you don't talk about it, it is not real approach. (Some might call it denial.)
Last night at New Year's Eve dinner dad decided to pray. He prays about the upcoming year and all of the changes it will bring for our family. It was nice but it wrecked what we had going which was to not talk about this being our last time together as a family. Half the table was crying when he finished praying.
The trip is wrapping up. The first of the 12 of us headed out today. This morning (New Year's Day) Matt (our Brother-in-law) left to go back to Minnesota because he has to be to work on Tuesday. Troy and Matt were friends in college (even roommates at one time) and now they are brothers-in-law; so it will be a difficult thing for them to not see each other for a long time.
The goodbye's have officially begun.
