I've often heard faith defined this way:"The expectation of things hoped for but not seen."
I'm realizing lately that too often our focus is on the "things hoped for". Sometimes "faithfulness" becomes the act of patiently waiting for things we want.
I think real faith is about something entirely different. Real faith is knowing that WHATEVER God wants is best and His will for us should be the focus of our lives. Real faith is understanding that God's plans are always for our benefit and His Glory...even though they might not always match up with the things we are hoping for. We need to get our will and desires in line with God's - that is what being faithful is about.
Faith is knowing that God knows better, and that He is in control.
