It is always interesting to me how one sad sight will not affect me - but another, very similar one, can cause despair. How many dozens of photos has Troy taken of kids in the feeding program?
Lots of dozens.
For whatever reason this little girl just makes me sad. She is the daughter of someone who works for Lifeline. We see her every day. I look at these pictures and I just want to snap her up and fix all of the hard things she has faced and all the sadness and struggle she will ever face.
It is important to remind ourselves to touch the ones we can reach and love the ones we can love. And to try to keep from dwelling on all the things we can't do.
