Americans with permission to leave Haiti from Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive AND from the U.S. Embassy ran into trouble as they tried to exit the airport. There were a few loud people who believed the kids were being taken (thanks for that, red-haired lady from Idaho) illegally and they (falsely) accused them.
The security at the airport did not allow the story to be told or evidence to be seen, they reacted and they removed kids from the care of LEGAL guardians to a unicef camp. The guardians were not allowed to stay and calm the kids. The unicef camp would not allow them inside.
I am so sad to have learned (as a result of the earthquake) that most everything in the world is based on money and power. I guess I was a total ignoramus prior to January 12th.
In the last month I have seen such politics and power plays that I feel sick thinking about it.
- I don't believe media (any of them) reports freely. I believe they answer to someone. I believe governments place pressure on media to not run certain stories and I have seen evidence of such.
- I believe that governments are in incestuous relationships with large NGOs and I believe they get so caught up pandering to one another and playing games that they allow people to suffer in the process.
- I believe that many people employed by government agencies in the USA and other countries are afraid to do what is right because their government is too busy doing what is politically prudent and diplomatic. They want to stay employed, therefore they are too fearful to rise above the political bull$%&. (And I understand wanting to stay employed. But it still stinks.)
- I believe that unicef, as an organization, is currently on one of the most obnoxious power trips of all time. I believe that they should have to answer to someone for this abuse of power.
Please pray for the six children stuck in a unicef camp. They were torn away from their caregivers and they have families. Please also pray for God's Littlest Angels Orphanage, which has been operating in Haiti for more than 10 years. Pray for political agendas and desire for power and money to be laid down --- and for the love of God to shine through this particular man-made disaster.

All of this is so hard to believe. It makes me angry.
Thank you for listening to the pleas and helping to get the word out. Loving families are waiting for those six children. They have all the required approvals.
I hope you are wrong about the government employees and I know you are correct that God alone can fix this.
This whole thing makes me so angry! How difficult is it to do let people helping HELP!!!!
More prayers and if there are other things we can do to help move the government bureaucratic mountain please let us know.
No words. :(
Lynn from Agape who sent the plane of the escorts (it includes a mother of one of the children) called me about this a while ago .. it makes me SO ANGRY ... UNICEF ... ugh ... hate it, hate power trips, hate it all. Praying my heart out ... as you know ... for your family and now for these children and their families ... keep picturing it as my little ones being taken away and it is so so real to me ...
Praying. I think power reveals corruption, the true state of men's hearts. Power allows it to come to the surface and fester. Without God's power to change, the evil one works his madness through these people.
Thanks for bringing these stories to the light.
So sorry for this sad state of affairs. I have tweeted and broadcast this story. Sending it along with prayers.
Thank you thank you thank you for getting so many prayer warriors praying. Our baby is one of the six. We cannot wait for everyone that is praying and following to see GOD come through in only a way he can!! May His name be famed through this! We also want it to draw attention to those orphans who endure this unexceptable living daily and have no hope of coming home soon. May this shine a light for those children.
I think this is a theme for me lately... or for the last few years even: personal care does what institutional law can't do. Just like the love of a family beats the pooh out of the "maintenance" state of orphanage care, personal & caring aid distribution beats trough style handouts. And in the case of UNICEF you have an agency whose primary goal seems to be to protect kids by making it difficult to do evil things... but they have an institutional model for how to do that. Rules, red tape, checklists, etc. All they can really do (on a good day) is make things difficult for evil-doers. They can't come alongside poorly run orphanages and help them clean up their act. They can't build relationships of care for the people who are doing things right, so that there might be an incentive to do things right.... No... they have to be wrist slappers. That is what institutions do. Ministries. Governments. Power. No wonder when Satan said that all governing bodies were his to give away (Matt 4:8-9) Jesus did not interrupt or correct him, other than to say that worship should not be directed anywhere but towards God. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, and not against UNICEF workers, but against the powers and principalities behind UNICEF: Fear, promotion, greed, legalism, power hunger, mistrust, etc. Lord help us!
I agree completely! Will be praying for those 6 children!
I want to say thank you AGAIN for all that you have/are/will post with regard to Haiti. It is from your posts and links to various other websites that I have learned the truth about UNICEF. I never realized what beasties they are. I have a few other "big name" charities that I refuse to donate to when everyone else does due to their not-so-charity-like ways. UNICEF has now been added to that list. I couldn't donate to an organization that really doesn't "get it". Thank you so much!
Tara and Troy,
I can't even imagine the frustration and pain you must feel watching this all unfold and feeling helpless to change it. I will pray for this situation as we do know only God can has the power for this. Please know there are people in the world that stand with you in your belief - let good people do their work and to hold governments responsible for their actions. It is horribly unfortunate that the group from Idaho went to Haiti to "help" the orphans. They have done so much damage, ugghhhh. And needless to say, I will never donate to Unicef again. I have learned a valuable lesson in giving - big organizations are great for big needs (supplies) but when it comes to actually helping the people, I'll look for Ministries like yours.
Keep working through your issues and we'll keep praying for you and your family and of course for the healing of Haiti.
Sabrina
I am so sad and angry.
UNICEFED.
Oh those poor sweet babes and their parents.
I am so pissed and sad but THANKFUL for your always drawing attn to where it should be. I share your beliefs, btw.
Amen, Sister! Keep on speaking the Truth. Liz (in very north Texas)
All I can say is I agree with you on EVERY POINT!!! Frustrating and maddening!
Thank you for being honest and true.
Thank you for sharing this info and for your heart for the people of Haiti. It makes my blood boil to think how those in power are using this tragedy as a way to grab more power. It all seems to be about who is in charge - not about who might live or die. I'm going to try to get the word out in every way I can.
Praying that our Mighty Powerful God will remove the obstacles (mountains) in front of the children. That they would be set free and be united with their families.
Lord, kings hearts are in your hands. Please remove the power from the people who are abusing it and give it to those who have Your wisdom. Make a way Lord Jesus! Amen!
I am sooo fed up with UNICEF. Yes, there need to be advocates for children's rights, yes children need to be protected from evil people, but this has NOTHING to do with looking out for the child's welfare, NOTHING!!
I had a personal experience with them in Santo Domingo, very similar to the one that just happened, only they realised that everything was in order, but ONLY when our Ambassador turned up!
Shame on you, UNICEF, shame on you!
Sharing your outrage,
Alexandra
I have been following your blog since the earthquake (wish I had found it sooner). Thank you for sharing your life with us. I am praying about this issue. And I 100% agree with your statements about the media, the government, and organizations like Unicef. As a mother of 4 and a Registered Nurse, I can only imagine what it is like for these children. This tugs so strongly on my heart.
Is there anything we can do? Really. A senator to contact? A congressman? Make a stink to Hillary? I've tweeted and facebooked. Of course we'll pray - but is there anything at all that we can do to put some feet on those prayers? For GLA and the six children detained?
Nevermind - just re-read the last paragraph of your post. Praying.
I've been reading your blog since the earthquake and I believe God has used it in a way to wreck me in a way that I didn't know possible. I was just looking at some pictures on a friend's Facebook page and remembered you talking about a little guy named Ben Jerry. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=32575208&id=141300709#!/photo.php?pid=32575196&id=141300709&fbid=553511138494. I came back to your page, and sure enough she was a Double Harvest. Such a small world! God Bless!
This makes me so sad. I wonder how many children will die before the right thing is done? I guess I just don't understand this whole thing. No common sense is being used. I mean...if someone needs food, you give them food. If a child needs clothes, you find them clothes. If children need a roof over their head, doesn't it make sense......
If we are supposed to give to others how can we do it with so much corruption?
You don't wanna know what UNICEF asked me to do. I passed. They are dark, man. Dark.

Praying....
All of it stinks. STINKS. I have similar convictions.
Praying for those 6 little ones and Haiti and your family!
Unicef is a bad word in our house. Has been for some time.
It is a shame that human suffering gets turned into a chest thumping match
