The feeding program is how Lifeline began many years ago, in a different location.
I will never know what it is like to be hungry. True hunger cannot be experienced unless you have lived without enough food for weeks and months and years on end.
Monday through Friday the kids come to the different feeding centers to receive thier noon meal. It is no small production, these huge pots are overflowing with rice or beans or cornmeal.
All of the food is prepared here in LaDigue.
Quick facts-each week we use-
- 600 lbs of rice
- 320 lbs of beans
- 125 lbs of flour
- 48 liters of cooking oil
And to think, I struggle with cooking for seven.
