I have not had trouble with nightmares at all in recent weeks. Until tonight. I'm not sure why but I have this odd fear hanging over me tonight. I keep dreaming that the patients that need help are standing by the side of the bed angry with us. They are all so bloody they look like they've left the set of a bad horror movie. They keep walking up to Troy's side of the bed and waiting for us to notice them.
There is also a helicopter somewhere near by that has been hovering in the same spot for a long time. A C-130 just flew over. The mosquitoes in our bedroom are atrocious and won't cut us a break tonight. It guess it is just a night to be awake at 3:45.
Last night we had a bunch of new guests arrive. Our house is at capacity. It was Minnesota reunion night for the most part. Randy Mortensen of World Wide Village got in with two people from KSTP in the Twin Cities. I kind of chuckled because Troy-boy has successfully avoided interviews for so long - but now the camera guy and reporter are sleeping in our family room. :) So much for that plan. They seem very nice. They will follow Randy to Leogane to watch the 50 bed mobile hospital go up later today. There are Docs and Nurses set to staff it for the next six months.

Hey Tara, will be praying for a successful installation of the hospital. I may be going through on Monday and hope to stop and have a look.
praying
I had a dream the other night that another Haitian mom had a baby and wanted to put it up for adoption but was told she couldn't because they were trying to keep as many kids with their families as possible. She was devastated because she knew she had nothing and could not look after it. She was trying to do what she knew would be best for her child but officials were telling her they wanter her to keep it. Yeah, I've been bugging out about our adoption and all those kids stuck in the system now. Our subconcious can do strange things.
I was excited to read about the hospital. What a great thing! I would love to see pictures if Randy can get you some to post on the blog.
We're thinking about you guys and praying for you. I wish we were closer and could help out more.
Lord, heal the minds and bodies of those who are in Haiti. I pray the Name and the Blood of Jesus over the images and the memories that they have taken in. Help each one to take your armor and stand in the midst of the darkness. Soothe and calm their fears, speak peace to every storm that rages inside and around them. Cover them in the shelter of Your wing, hold them close to Your heart and whisper words of comfort. Healing waters, flow...
I'll have to switch my news watching to channel 5. I am a stranger referred to your blog by someone on Facebook. I have been following and praying for you and your kids as well as others serving and for the Haitian people. I look forward to seeing what God is going to do there in the years to come as a result of this trauma.
I agree with Heather's prayer for you. I stand as a prayer warrior beside her and beside you. Lord, you hear us, for you have promised wherever two or more are gathered in your name, you are among us. You walk among the injured and the healers in Haiti with the Livesays. I pray this prayer with Heather right now:
Lord, heal the minds and bodies of those who are in Haiti. I pray the Name and the Blood of Jesus over the images and the memories that they have taken in. Help each one to take your armor and stand in the midst of the darkness. Soothe and calm their fears, speak peace to every storm that rages inside and around them. Yes! Dreams. Sharing dreams. Very important for your mental health, Tara! (((Hugs)))
P.S. I know you'll take the opportunity to share Haiti with the media "parked" in your family room. The world wants, really wants to know what's going on, and video can tell your story smashingly well.
BTW, Troys's pics and vids are excellent. Maybe he can collaborate with the pros? :~D
Anyone who wants to be on the list for updates on the hospital, please send me an email at: info@worldwidevillage.org

i'll be praying for healing dreams for you and your whole family. for deep and restorative sleep that leaves you feeling whole when you wake.
I am reminded of the Word that says dreams come when there are many cares. In my own experience the dreams that come with cares are usually nightmares:)
I pray your sleep will be blessed with the rest only God can give.
Thank you for being one who cares.
Elizabeth
Tara, I have been following your blog RELIGIOUSLY since the earthquake. My heart goes out to you and my prayers are going UP! I'm sure you don't even have time to read all of the comments on your blog. I wish so much we all could do more. I KNOW there are SO MANY people praying for you.
Kind of funny that Troy has been avoiding interviews - the very first news stories I read about Haiti, on the BBC news web site, were using his tweets as one of their main "on the scene" sources! I figured he must be all over the media.
