The airport is an insane place right now. There does not seem to be any system of order. Troy and the other men that are full time here in Haiti have been doing work getting supplies and people off of little private planes and has been able to stand and observe the madness. None of the little organizations know how to get supplies from the big guys ... the whole system (or lack thereof) is frustrating.I am glad the media has given Haiti some attention and hopefully that makes people CARE and want to GIVE and ACT - but the ones that never leave the airport and report from the tarmac are just in the way and taking up valuable space and adding to the chaos. Plus, I am hearing the story is no longer getting much attention - that it has dropped to the bottom of the news cast - which is sad, because the story has only just begun.
A personal thank you to each of you that have supported Troy and I for the last four years. Your love has gone the distance and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Another debt of gratitude for all the gifts that have come in - in recent days. The response has touched us and your love is felt by all of us ... thank you - thank you - thank you.
We are putting them to use on the ground and if you know of others that want to give please direct them to:

More on Mission Aviation Fellowship and possibility of getting supplies from them: Here's the web page story: http://www.maf.org/news/maf-news3/maf-coordinates-delivery-of-vital-aid-to-devastated-haiti#s2w6ZEo37f18WOs0PMh8DA
Also tried emailing John Woodberry, coordinator at the airport in PAP, at jwoodberry@maf.org
Friday night, though. No response so far.
We haven't forgotten. We'll continue to read and follow and pray . . .and will continue to pray for God to provide all your needs . . . and once we can do something more, we will.
Not forgotten!!! Someone follow Troy with a camera and act important and you will apparently be allowed to walk right in and take whatever you need! At least that was the case on CNN. We love you guys and are praying and will NOT let the world forget!
We have not forgotten! Many of us are following you and still spreading the word. THANK YOU THANK YOU! I can't say it enough! PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING for you and the people of Haiti. I'm seeing miracles through you. Praising God tonight that Amos is going to be with his Mama and Papa!
The stories you have been sharing are incredible; thank you for sharing the joy of Esther's birth after hearing of Colette's suffering. Continuing to keep you in our thoughts and continuing to pray.
My family and I have not forgotten. Lifting you and others up in prayer. Praying for strength and hope and moments when you can see His hand at work. Praying that all the children in the orphanages will be able to be united with their adoptive families and that those who are recently orphaned will find refuge. Praying and Praying and Praying!
We are giving what we can and encouraging our family and friends to do so as well. Thank you for doing what I wish I could do and yet respecting that supporting you and your ministry is the most effective thing I can do at this time.
Still top headlines in Alabama. In fact, they are asking Alabama and surrouding states hospitals to be on alert and talking with gov's to allow Haitian refugees to be airlifted here to hospitals and get temp housing here.
BIG telethon tonight by celebrities and giving is in the millions. They partnered with several major orgs to filter the money.
No one has forgotten. Big news here still.
LOTS of people on facebook keeping the reminder to pray every day!!
Hang in there

NOU PA BLIYE OU!! still lotsa love comin' at ya...
almost every single channel is/will be playing a 2 hour hope for haiti special..it sounds like it's all around the world, Anderson even said it's playing in China!! WE will NOT forget!
Haiti has not been forgotten here in Canada. Currently the top 3 networks in Canada are doing a big telethon for Haiti. It is still on the news and on the front page of most of our newspapers!
We are still praying for you & those with you on the front lines. God bless you all for all that you are doing for the people of Haiti.
Just heard some Heartline kids are arriving tonight! Praise God! Just want you to know that we are still praying for you and remembering you. Thank you for all you are doing!
Praising God with you that John McHoul reported all Heartline kiddos will be going home soon to their parents!! YEA! We are still praying for New Life Link's kids (Dr. Bernard's orphanage). He can't seem to crack the nut with the Embassy.
Thank you for continuing to do what you're doing.

Tara,
Keep the Faith!! I have had the TV on CNN all evening and Haiti coverage has been on the entire night! We are all praying. Our team in Haiti has been able to access tons of medical supplies at the airport. They have gotten everything they need, including some of the same items on your list earlier. I will pray specifically that you are able to get what you need in the coming days.
I found your blog via CNN a few days ago - they featured some of the blogs they'd discovered. I am in Tampa Bay and not just the network news but even our local news is pleading for help. Please, know that "forgotten" is not even the case. People are praying and as others mentioned, a HUGE telethon took place tonight that probably raised millions (on top of millions already raised). I just wish that the money could somehow funnel to the smaller but just as important organizations like yours.
As for "some attention" - it's far, far more than that. The CNN team is doing amazing work in my opinion - they are truly bringing the story to us and making this very REAL and making people ACT. I truly believe they will also continue to follow the story as the rebuilding process goes on.
God bless,
sonya in tampa
I'm not christian, except by culture, heck, I'm not even a believer. But I thank you for all that you've done and will do. From one human to another, thank you for being you. Good people is all I seek.
USNS Comfort sailed from my port, and I am so terribly delighted to read of Colette and Esther in my local ra.
it is still a big story here in California and you are the big story in our lives. Thank you so much for all you continue to do.
following every day. we will not cease to pray. tomorrow night we are holding a prayer vigil with friends in our home. i will be using your flickr as a slide show along with music. i hope this okay. thank you for all you are doing to get information out to everyone. the media may slow but our prayers will remain. God bless you with each coming day, may you be blanketed in peace and given strength even in those moments when you are not sure you have anything left. my heart is aching for the nation, my childhood home. the photos in your archives on flickr depict the beauty that haiti is to me and the recent photos....are breathtaking and heart wrenching. thank you again for all you are doing. words are not enough...please know that we are holding you & the hatian people up in prayer. we will continue to do so in the coming days, months and years as the work to heal, minister and rebuild continues. prayers for restoration and renewal for this country so dear to my heart.
hello from Ireland where you are not forgotten and I check in everyday to hear how you are. I'm praying for you. Thank you for your updates. They have given me hope when the news seemed overwhelmingly depressing. God be with you. melanie
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers coming your way from Southern California. Thank you so much for being the hands and feet we'd like to be but can't. We'll keep praying!
The board of heartline will never forget what you are doing. we will stand by you and support you with whatever we can do. wish i was there to tell you in person. There are hundreds of supporters backing you when the press goes away.
praying
Tara and Troy,
We are mobilizing engineers for the next wave of need - water and rebuilding. We know enough to stay out of your way but it is killing us.
Stay strong stay hopeful
Troy and Tara~
I work with a missionary in Haiti is name is Tom Osbeck, Jesus in Haiti Ministries. I help him with his school. We are having trouble getting him supplies, and we are trying to go to him. How, are you getting into the airport?? He says he can't get in to get supplies.
thanks for your help.

PS Tara I also ran in the Twin Cities Marathon, that is how I found your blog!!!
We're watching ESPN right now and they are doing PSA's about Haiti - several of the Haiti-born professional athletes have made commercials about donating to the Red Cross. It's good to see other networks doing their part for awareness!
I work in a small, rural hospital in Missouri, and there are emails going out at least once a day to try to recruit nurses to go to Haiti. I'm not a nurse (will be in about a year!) or else I'd be on the next plane down there. You all are in our daily prayers!
Ashlee-
Troy has been allowed in a few times .. supposedly if you can prove credentials (Doctor or Nurse?) then they let you in ... posturing seems to be part of the key to getting in ... the little airport and big airport supposedly have supplies ... Troy got into the Miami Hospital tent yesterday --- hoping Tom has luck today -- Troy can be reached by Tom with questions at 3744-8718 (if Digicel actually works that is)
Great to hear from a fellow runner.

We have not forgotten either, Tara. I am glued to your blog to know what is going on. My daughter wants to empty her piggy bank to give the money to help in Haiti and we've agreed to match whatever she gives. Their school is having a fundraiser. I hope these small fundraisers add up to great help. I am thinking and praying for the people of Haiti, for people like you who are so willing to give your whole life to make a difference and all of the pepole who are making an impact now.
so now I extremely feel bad about mentioning a few posts ago that there was just one headline on Haiti on my yahoo homepage. I don't watch TV and I don't read the newspaper. So I was wrong, I made an unexplored claim, and I'm sorry for being a black cloud when things are still being reported all across the world on different networks, etc. Love you guys and still praying.....
Everyone I know is still blogging/tweeting and talking about Haiti.
We're not musicians, but e-Dad mentioned this article I'll quote from: "One of the most conspicuous responses was Friday night's charity telethon, Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief.
Among the artists who performed at the event: Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay plus a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna in London.
The worldwide broadcast was hosted by Wyclef Jean in New York, with George Clooney hosting in Los Angeles and CNN's Anderson Cooper reporting from Haiti."
Love you guys! We're with you!
(((Hugs)))
Bless you for this, and for being so active online with updates, information and observations. As a member of the media myself, I've been absolutely gripped by your updates; as a human being who's worked with aid agencies in the past, I've been irrevocably changed, and am, in fact, considering a career change as a result of your missives.
Thank you x a million.
